Required Tools

  • Large Towel
  • Philip-head screwdriver (mechanical is preferred)
  • Flat-head screwdriver

Remove the clear panel

  1. Turn off the unit.
  2. Make sure that no water remains in the rain tubes by tapping the top of the lid a couple of times before opening the lid
  3. Open the lid and drape the towel over the top of the tank (this will catch the falling screws)
  4. Using a Philip-head screwdriver, unscrew as shown
  5. Lay it flat on top of the tank

Disconnecting the LED Board

The connection is very tight, and it's best to push it out with some force.

  1. There are shoulders on each side of the locking clip. These are where we will plunge the flat-head screwdriver and push down.
  2. Using the flat-head screwdriver, plunge and push down on each side with some force (give the screwdriver some taps). Alternate each side until the connector begins to loosen up.
  3. This is what the male connector looks like when disconnected. Check and make sure that it is clean.

Replacing the LED Board

There are a lot of screws. So, a mechanical screwdriver might be helpful.

  1. Now that the connector is removed. Remove all the screws
  2. Remove and replace it with the new LED board
  3. Resecure the LED boards with the screws
  4. Plug backing the connector
  5. Put back the clear panel with the screws
